| Since coming to Matagalpa I
have been working with children who are severely malnourished.
MV has a home here where children come to be nourished back to
health through food, love and prayers. Many families in
and around Matagalpa do not have employment so the children are
not fed well. MV also has 5 feeding centers in the
area that provides 3 meals a week to 80 children from each
center.
Since my background is nursing I have responsibility for all
the medical and dental teams coming to Nicaragua. This is a very
important aspect of my work here. No only can we provide
physical care to the people including much needed medication but
it is also a way to provide spiritual care.
Another exciting project here is the hospital construction.
The first floor is almost completed. We are just on the little
touch-ups. the first team to be using the site will be Jan 19th
from Canada!!! We are also going to be receiving a
medical/dental trailer to take to areas that are remote. |
